A Constant In Product Generation To Product Generation

As new generations of products come to market, PEPI® thermal controls have proven to remain a constant component.  This is not an accident.

As products improve from generation to generaton, they usually add new technology, new designs and new functions.  Often this dramatically changes available space for components or requires new functionality from these components.  Changes to the thermal controls used on the circuitry of new generation products often requires expensive and time-consuming safety agency testing.  Being able to maintain the same thermal controls from generation to generation saves added steps.

This is where Portage Electric’s lifelong drive toward miniaturization really pays off.  Tighter spaces usually make PEPI® devices even more valuable.  PEPI® versatility also makes it easier for these devices to fit in with new functionality and technology.  Sometimes a change in the bimetal used to open and close the circuit or additional customization to make them more isolated from the circuit is required.  However, seldom is it impossible for an existing PEPI® thermal control to fit new specifications.

A dramatic example of this generation-to-generation flexibility was seen when fluorescents migrated to newer LED lighting technology.  Although the technologies were radically different, the same current moved through each.  Maintaining PEPI® thermal controls as an integral part of the circuit when changing to new LED technology helped speed these next generation products to market.
